On the nose, aromas of ripe Bing cherries are grounded by wet clay and a hint of vanilla. Plums and a touch of earthiness are found on the pallet, brightened by a nice mid-palate acidity. The lushness in the mouth balanced by finely polished tannic structure supports a wide range of foods.
As a varietal, Zinfandel tends to throw caution to the wind and err on the side of fun. While not losing sight of its rambunctious roots, our 2014 Carpoforo Zinfandel maintains its regal composure.
Our 2015 Pico Creek Merlot is an exquisite rebuttal to those who might forget the noble lineage of this regal grape variety.
Aromas of caramel, raspberry and sweet lavender are released with each swirl in the glass. Herbaceous red fruit and chocolate kick off the flavor profile and are supported with a nice raspberry mid palate that fades to lengthy finish dominated by oak, cinnamon, and maple flavors beneath the beautiful dried fruit.
Constructing The Point is a special treat for those of us in the cellar. Without the constraints of a varietal designation we’re free to explore various combinations and the resulting expressions. After many trials ending in purple teeth and stained stemware we reached the point where aromatics, flavor and texture have come together in harmony.
